In his work, Sam Keller mocks power by exposing the contradictions inherent in the relationship between object, artist, viewer and capital. Using recognizable bought and found objects, he plays with the implied hierarchies of capitalism’s hold on the everyday, parodying its inescapability. His work is intended to lure the viewer into unexpected new realities and pose a challenge to the art commodity.
